Double chocolate Oreo cake
Looking at the picture above this cake actually doesn’t need much introduction: anyone can tell that a slice of this babe equals tasting a piece of heaven.
Chocolate cake with pieces of chocolate, chocolate glazing and also pieces of Oreo inside and on top of the cake, this is definitely a delicious guilty pleasure. It may seem like a lot of work, but you’ll have this cake ready to bake in about 15 minutes. After that it’s just a lot of waiting and enjoying the godly smell!
What you need
- 175 grams self-rising flour
- 150 grams brown sugar
- 50 grams sugar
- 200 grams butter
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 3 eggs
- 50 grams chocolate
- 1 roll of Oreo’s
- 1 pack of chocolate glazing
- Mixing bowl
- Cutting board
- Bowl with hot water
- Cake tin
- Save the cake for max. 2 days in a closed container.
Preheat the oven at 180°C. Put the butter and sugar in the mixing bowl and mix into a smooth mixture. One by one add the eggs and mix wel inbetween.
Add thhe flour and cocoa powder and mix into an airy batter.
Take the Oreos out of the package and put them on the cutting board. Chop into pieces with a large knife. Put 2/3 of the pieces into the batter and put the rest into a seperate bowl. Take the chocolate and also chop it into pieces. Put them all into the batter and gently scoop it in (so don’t use the mixer).
Put the cake in the oven and bake for 45 minutes. After it’s done let it cool entirely before you start glazing it.
Tip: because the glazing will most likely drip off the cake it might be a good idea to put somehting underneath it, I used a piece of baking paper.
Let the glazing cool for a little bit and put the leftover Oreo pieces on top. If you put on the cookies when the glazing is still too wet they will glide of, but don’t wait too long because when it’s hardened too much they won’t stick anymore’
Let the glazing harden entirely before cutting the cake.
